Welcome to our very first remote summer term. Normally, you would be preparing your children for their final term of the academic year. However, we are all having to adapt to new ways of working - teachers, students and parents alike.
Can I thank you for the amazing job you are doing. Teaching has never been for the
faint-hearted and it cannot be easy for you to combine the role of parent with that of teacher.
We don’t expect your child to be working on-line from 8.45 am – 3.20 pm, but having a routine is important, which will include your child having breaks. Try to make time to have fun together as a family, even if it is just watching some of the amusing videos that are regularly posted on social media. Each of us can only do our best. If your child is learning and engaging with the set tasks, you should count that as a job well done.
I hope you are being kind to yourself at this challenging time. There are so many unknowns and many of you will be feeling anxious. Help is available and please check out our Facebook page for links to various organisations. Our office staff are working from home, but you can still contact us by e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We continue to be open for the children of keyworkers, but the safest place for your child to be is at home. We miss our students, but we must continue to follow the guidance on social distancing in order to keep each and every one of us as healthy as possible.
In the coming days, our teachers will be providing new tasks and checking how actively students are engaging with on-line learning. We have had to learn very quickly about this new way of working and I know that together, we will figure it out.
