This week’s meeting tackled arguably the most polarising figure of recent times: President Trump. In a lively debate, consideration was given to his domestic record, foreign policy and general brand of politics. Has he made America great or grate? Opinions were divided, with some pointing out his achievements have been deliberately ignored in the liberal European media. In his defence, went the argument, he has revolutionised the role of social media in the political process and stuck to his promise of running America like a business. It would be fair to say not everyone was convinced by this defence, questioning amongst other things his character, conduct, moral fibre and sanity. So, thank you to The Donald for helping to keep the fire of debate burning now the nights have drawn in.
