Lettings and Facility Hire

Ballakermeen High School has a range of facilities that are available to hire. These include:

Sports Hall
Small Gymnasium with access to outdoor yard

2x Multi-purpose Canteens/Halls (kitchen facilities not included)
Lecture Theatre
Dance Studio
Teaching Classrooms

Any group, club or individual interested in letting any part of the school should, in the first instance, contact our Lettings Manager, Mr Tony Corlett, on 648700 or by emailing BHSLettings@sch.im. Once contact has been made to discuss your needs, the appropriate booking form should be downloaded from the bottom of this page, completed and returned to the school.

All bookings must adhere to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture’s (DESC) Terms & Conditions of Hire; failure to do so may result in cancellation of bookings and future bookings being refused. A copy of the T&Cs are available for download below.

Costs

The costs of hire are set by the DESC, not by Ballakermeen High School.

Additional costs may be incurred by the hirer for overrunning of bookings, damage to property or for additional cleaning of facilities after use.

Things to consider

The school is closed during bank holidays.Bookings during bank holidays may be considered on an individual basis but will be subject to increased costs.

Facilities may not be available for use during key school events.We will inform you of these upon receipt of your booking application.

Facilities are subject to maintenance during school holidays and as such may not always be available. Where flexibility exists we will try to avoid impacting lettings which have already been confirmed.

Ballakermeen does not provide equipment for use by hirers e.g. sports equipment, teaching aids etc. Some equipment such as stage lighting, projectors, speakers etc is available for hire at additional costs and should be discussed with the Lettings Manager prior to booking.

Letting availability

Weekday evenings: 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm (please note that access can not be granted to facilities until 5.00 pm at the earliest due to school requirements)

Saturdays: 9.00 am – 12.00 pm

Please note that in order to accommodate other users and avoid further charges, your booking time MUST include setup, changing and clear-up time. Facilities must be vacated promptly at the end of your booking time.
