We are incredibly proud to share just some of the many achievements of our students who took part in this year’s Manx Music Festival. Their dedication, talent, and enthusiasm across a wide range of disciplines have been truly impressive, and we congratulate all students involved on their success. Thanks to those who have been in touch to share their wonderful achievements.
- Zac (Year 12) won the Junior Composition class and was also awarded the 2025 Manx Music Festival Scholarship of £1,000. Zac is a very gifted singer-songwriter with a natural ability to self-accompany on piano. From a young age he has penned songs and had a natural and confident delivery. This scholarship is a thoroughly well-deserved recognition of his talent, and we offer Zac our warmest congratulations.
- Summer (Year 7) won the Duologue class for Years 7–8 alongside her partner, Bluebell. She also performed as part of ‘Stage One’s Shooting Stars’, who were awarded first place in both the Group Theme for Years 7–13 and the Choral Speaking up to Year 13. Benjie (Year 8 ) and Benjamin (Year 7) also performed in this group.
- Ethan (Year 7) placed first in both the Years 7-8 Public Speaking, Bible Reading, and also received a Distinction in his monologue class.
- Lucy (Year 8 ) won the highly competitive Girls Solo for Years 7–8, receiving the Murray Cup for her performance of ‘The Path to the Moon’. She also secured first place in the Years 6-8 Songs from the Musicals class.
- Jen (Year 11) and Kiah (Year 8 ) achieved second place with their ‘MoveIt’ ballet group in the Open Ballet Team category.
- Clodagh, Aurélie, Martha, and Heidi all performed with the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance, winning the Anything Goes class.
- Anna (Year 9) won the Grades 5–6 Piano class with her performance of ‘Foggy Blues’, earning the Margaret Callow Cup. She also achieved second place in the Memory Piano Solo category.
- Emil (Year 7) won the Piano Duet Own Choice class with his partner, Julia.
- Iva (Year 13) and Victor (Year 8 ) performed with Rhythm of Bulgaria in the Country Folk Dancing class, earning second place.
- Jen (Year 11) received a Highly Commended in the Years 9–13 Monologues category. We would like to wish her every success as she takes the next step in her training this September, studying for a Trinity College Level 6 Diploma in Musical Theatre at a Performing Arts College in England.
- Orry (Year 13) was awarded the Sylvia Bailey Trophy for winning the Sixth Form Spoken Word class, achieving one of the highest marks of the entire festival!
- Arlo (Year 10) won both the Grade 8 Piano Solo, performing Debussy, and the Years 7-10 Piano Solo from Memory, performing Chopin.
We commend all of these students — and the many others who took part. Your achievements are a credit to your hard work and we’re very proud of you!
