Ballakermeen High School is a fully comprehensive secondary school serving Douglas, Isle of Man. There are over 1,700 students aged 11 – 18.

Centrally located on a secure, single site we enjoy a reputation for high academic achievement, excellent pastoral care, and a proud record in sport and the arts. Our facilities are outstanding and include a swimming pool, sports hall, extensive ICT suites, laboratories and a theatre.

Although we are a large institution we are a close-knit community where many kinds of success are celebrated and every individual is valued. We are proud of our listening relationship with parents and the way in which we develop our staff to provide the best in learning opportunities. Quite simply, we are passionate about learning and about helping our students to make the most of their time with us.

We are happy to arrange visits and to provide further information on request.

Ethos and Values

The Ballakermeen Learner consists of four learning attributes: Ready, Reflective, Knowledgeable and Ambitious, and three values: Kindness, Honesty and Respect. This year, we will be working hard to embed these attributes and values across the school and we want all of our students to understand their importance.
