Ski Trip 2027 Introduction

Applications are now open to all students in Years 7, 8, and 9 for our Ski Trip to the Flirsch Resort in Austria during February Half Term 2027. Due to the proximity to exams, we do not anticipate opening the trip to Years 10, 11, 12 or 13. Provision is made for those who have no previous experience through to those who are expert skiers.

We have chosen Austria (St. Anton) for this year’s trip through Ski Team 4 Group Specialists. This offers us a good resort for a better quality of slopes and snow, a great location, just a few minutes from the hotel to the slopes, good quality accommodation and a range of evening activities.

We estimate the cost of the trip to be approximately £1800.00 - Please note that, due to the current global conditions affecting fuel prices, this amount could increase.

Included in this price is:

  • Return boat and coach from the Isle of Man
  • Resort taxes
  • Full winter sport insurance
  • Full board accommodation including packed lunches in resort
  • 5 days tuition, 5 hours per day with qualified ski instructors
  • Full equipment hire (skis, boots, poles, helmets)
  • Evening activities
  • Souvenir Hoodie

Not included in the price and therefore the responsibility of the parents/carers:

  • Ski clothing (jacket, salopettes, gloves)
  • Personal spending money
  • Snowboarding – Extra – Price to be confirmed per person minimum/8 people to be viable
  • Eitas, ETA and Schengen Visa Application Fee (if applicable)

Passports

Please note: Valid individual passports are a pre-requisite and the sole responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure all travel requirements are fully met. For Austria, passports should be valid and in date for up to three months on the return travel date. Please note you may also be required to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation). Please refer to the guidance link attached: https://www.gov.im/categories/travel-traffic-and-m...

If your child’s passport has been issued outside of the Schengen Area you will be required to apply for a Schengen Visa, this must be applied for six months before travel. Failure to secure the required documentation will prevent your child being able to travel and additional costs may be incurred. Please see the link attached relating to Schengen Visas and the Austrian Consulate for further information.

Please note: Any losses arising from visa-related issues will be borne by the parent. The school is unable to offer guidance on visa matters.

The EITAS system is due to launch in late 2026. From that point all students must apply for an EITAS to be able to travel to Europe. When we have further information, we will advise accordingly with requirements.

Passports will be collected from students nearer the time of the trip. In the meantime, please supply a copy of the passport for our records. A copy can be sent to bhsenquiries@sch.im or alternatively we can photocopy the passport at the foyer if required.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the trip leader, Miss Dale via bhsenquiries@sch.im or 648700.
