Any group, club or individual interested in letting any part of the school should, in the first instance, contact our Lettings Manager on 648700 or by emailing BHSLettings@sch.im. Once contact has been made to discuss your needs, the appropriate booking form can be downloaded from the bottom of this page, completed, and returned to the school, either by dropping it off in person, by post or by email.
All bookings must adhere to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture’s (DESC) Terms & Conditions of Hire
Failure to do so may result in cancellation of bookings and any future bookings being refused.
Lettings Availability

Please note that in order to accommodate other users and avoid further charges, your booking time MUST include setup, changing and clear-up time at the beginning and ends of sessions. Facilities must be vacated promptly at the end of your booking time.
Considerations
- The school is closed during bank holidays. Bookings during bank holidays may be considered on an individual basis but will be subject to increased costs.
- Facilities may not be available for use during key school events. We will inform you of these upon receipt of your booking application.
- Facilities are subject to maintenance during school holidays and as such may not always be available. Where flexibility exists, we will try to avoid impacting lettings which have already been confirmed. We aim to give impacted users as much notice as possible.
- Ballakermeen does not provide equipment for the use for hirers (eg. sports equipment & teaching aids). Some equipment can be hired at additional costs and should be discussed with the Lettings Manager prior to booking.
- The Studio Theatre does have basic equipment for hire. Some equipment can be hired at additional costs and should be discussed with the Theatre Manager prior to booking or during any pre-production meetings.

Costs of hire are set by the DESC, not by Ballakermeen High School.

NFP Groups and Under 18's Pro Rata
These discounts are available for voluntary groups involving children under 18 and in full-time education. If you wish to apply for this discount, please complete the relevant section on the lettings application form and inform the Letting Manager in your initial enquiry. Please note that the information will be subject to checks and that this discount does not apply to one-off lettings.
For non-commercial/charity groups where a letting is partly for the benefit of under 18 and in full-time education and adults, your hire charge will be calculated pro-rata (an estimation of which can be supplied by the Lettings Manager).
