On Wednesday 16th July, the Ballakermeen community will be coming together to take part in our bi-annual Memorial Walk.

Every two years since 1991, we have undertaken a charity walk involving the whole school. The walk commemorates those connected with the school who have passed away, both students and staff, as well as raising money for Manx charities.

This year, alongside staff and students lost to us in previous years, we are particularly remembering Peter Quayle, our school gardener, who we lost in January. In Peter’s memory we will be supporting The Isle of Man Salvation Army and the Isle of Man Foodbank.

In 2025, the route will take us along the Heritage Trail to Marown Memorial Playing Fields, where we will have lunch and a minute of applause in remembrance before returning along the Heritage Trail to conclude the walk at school.

All students have been encouraged to get into the celebratory spirit by wearing their house colours for the walk to make it a fitting spectacle and memorial to those staff and students who are no longer with us.

If you are along the route, please do say hello. You will find us very warm, welcoming and friendly!
