We wish to provide the most current update regarding the impact of the planned bus strike from Monday 23 February to Monday 2 March inclusive on transport arrangements.

At present, we have been advised that there will be no regular school bus service during this period. This also includes inter‑school sports bus services.

Unless we are advised otherwise, these services will not be operating between Monday 23 February and Monday 2 March.

We have also been advised that specifically provided home‑to‑school transport for eligible students will continue to operate.

Bus Vannin has confirmed that students may use their Go Cards on all available bus services during the strike period. They have also advised that services in operation will bring secondary school students to within walking distance of schools.

Parents and carers whose children do not access home‑to‑school transport as a specific provision are asked to check the reduced bus timetable using the link below, and/or consider alternative travel arrangements where possible.

Bus Vannin has asked that customers keep up to date by following their social media and access www.findmybus.im to view service provision daily.

If there are any updates or changes to this information, we will communicate with you as soon as we are made aware.

We hope that that arrangements are possible to ensure children are in school ready to start the day at 8.50 so that the bus strike has minimum impact on the continuity of education. Although our punctuality policy will continue to be applied fairly and consistently, we will do so whilst recognising any genuine difficulties in making alternative arrangements. Any foreseen difficulties should be notified to us in advance.

Thank you for your understanding.
