With the recent inclement weather, we are writing to ask your support in encouraging your child to wear suitable outerwear on their way to school. This morning, we have had many students arrive wet and cold because they left home without wearing a coat or jacket.
We can confirm that the school is warm. As such there is no reason for any extra layers to be worn inside and students are therefore expected to remove coats and jackets when they enter the school building, as per the school uniform policy.
We kindly request that parents and carers do not write notes stating that they have given permission for their child to wear coats, sweatshirts etc. inside the building as this will lead to students being challenged about their additional layers. Permission to wear additional layers will be granted at the discretion of school staff in the event of the temperature dropping in the school building.
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
