Dear Parent or Carer,
I am writing to inform you that following the success of the previous two years, we have once again decided to record and upload the Year 9 Options Evening, rather than hold it in person. The presentation, which will outline everything that would have been discussed on the evening itself along with clear instructions on how to complete the options form, will be available to view on the school website from Monday 30th January.
The Year 9 options process itself will be completed online. Your child will be asked to join the Year 9 Options Google classroom in due course. Everything needed to successfully navigate the process will be posted there, including information on how to access and use the Job Explorer Database (JED), videos from the various subject areas, the options booklet and the options form itself. We would very much appreciate it if you would spend time looking through this information with your child prior to them completing their choices as students are required to confirm they have discussed their options with a parent or carer before submitting their form.
On a separate note, due to the ongoing industrial action, I am sorry to have to inform you that the Academic Tutoring planned for February 8th will have to be cancelled. I appreciate that this will come as a disappointment, but unfortunately we are not in a position to run the event. If the situation changes at any point in the coming weeks, we will let you know at the soonest opportunity.
Needless to say, we will keep you informed of your child’s progress throughout the year via the reporting process and we encourage you to get in touch should you have any concerns.
