As we approach the Winter months, it is likely that we will be faced with more days of inclement weather. PE lessons that are scheduled to take place outside will still go ahead, unless there is an island weather warning in place. With this in mind, it is imperative that your child is adequately prepared for their outdoor PE lessons. This includes making sure that they have the following:
- A towel
- Trainers for the lesson that are different to their school shoes
- PE socks
- Change of underwear
In addition to the above, students are allowed to wear extra layers underneath their PE kit such as base layers/skins etc. Navy blue jackets are also permitted to go over their BHS polo shirt. These can be sourced from anywhere, but Promenade T-shirts sell a fleece lined shell jacket. Jackets with hoods will not be permitted as this causes issues from a health and safety perspective.
We want students to be as warm and comfortable as possible both during their outdoor PE lessons, but also in the remaining lessons of the day that take place after PE. We hope that these guidelines will help to make their PE experience an enjoyable one.
