Tuesday 30th May 2023
Dear Parent/Carer,
Firstly, may I take this opportunity to praise the behaviour and conscientious approach taken by your child during this very busy exam season.
We will celebrate the end of exams with our Prom at the Villa Marina on Tuesday18th of July.It is a tremendous evening, enjoyed by staff and students alike. There will be a cash bar serving soft drinks only and if for any reason, students leave the building, they will not be permitted to return.
There is still time to reserve a ticket at a cost of £30. For those who have already reserved tickets, full payments should now have been made. Wrist bands and Year Books are now available for collection for students that have paid in full from the school foyer.
The event is scheduled to start at 7pm in the Villa Marina concluding at 10pm. Students can arrive from 6.30pm. To ensure everyone’s safety, all those in attendance will have their bags searched by external security staff prior to admission, so a prompt start to proceedings would be much appreciated. Traffic congestion can be a problem, so may I ask that vehicles do not drive to the front entrance or try to turn around, however, it will be possible to drive through, using the Broadway entrance and exiting onto Finch Road.
Alcohol is not permitted at the Prom. Should any student attempt to consume alcohol at the event or arrive in an unacceptable condition before the event, they will be asked to leave. Parents are also responsible for their son/daughter’s travel arrangements to and from the event. The Prom ends promptly at 10.00pm and it is parent’s responsibility to arrange transport home.
If your child has any special dietary requests/medical condition that we may not be aware of, please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
Once again, thank you for your support and encouragement over the last year.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs L Babb
Head of Year 11
