Congratulations to the Year 7 girls who played their first hockey fixture yesterday against CRHS. With some late additions to the team, the girls had never played together and some hadn’t even been to a practice! They adapted really well, losing the first 2 games and drawing the next 2 games. A lot of progress was made in a short period of time and most importantly they had fun! Special mention to Gabriella, Ivy (twice) and Georgia who were voted as player of the match in each of the four games. Gabriella volunteered to play in goal, despite never practising or wearing the equipment before and she was fantastic – saving lots of goals and literally putting her body on the line on numerous occasions! Any new players would be made most welcome – practices are on a Tuesday until 4.30pm.
